We limit ourselves to one wedding per weekend, and we specialize in multicultural and fusion celebrations that most large-roster DJ companies aren’t built for. We’re based in Tallahassee and serve North Florida and South Georgia.
How much does a wedding DJ cost in Tallahassee?+
Akanbi Entertainment’s wedding packages start at $1,000 for the Elegant tier and range up to $2,500 for the fully produced Luxurious tier, with a Signature package at $1,400 in between. Do you travel outside of Tallahassee for weddings?+
Yes. Local Tallahassee-area weddings — including Crawfordville, Thomasville, Quincy, and Havana — fall within our standard 1.5-hour travel radius and include travel at no extra cost. For regional and destination weddings, such as Jacksonville or Valdosta, we provide a custom flat-rate travel quote to cover crew logistics.
Will DJ Olu personally DJ our wedding, or will we be assigned another DJ?+
You will always work directly with DJ Olu. Akanbi Entertainment intentionally books only one wedding per weekend so Olu can personally handle your planning calls, music curation, and hosting duties — you will never be handed off to a substitute DJ on your wedding day.
Do you specialize in multicultural or fusion weddings?+
Yes — multicultural weddings are a core specialty. We’re experienced at blending music and traditions from two different cultural backgrounds into one cohesive reception, so every generation and every guest feels represented on the dance floor.
What’s included in a wedding DJ package?+
Every package includes a 4-hour reception, all planning meetings and support, access to an online planning portal, our signature DJ booth, a professional sound system, a wireless microphone, and full setup and breakdown. Higher tiers add ceremony sound, uplighting, dance floor lighting, and other production upgrades.
Do you provide ceremony and cocktail hour sound too?+
Ceremony and cocktail hour audio can be added to any package as an enhancement, and the Signature and Luxurious tiers include a dedicated ceremony sound system and wireless lapel mic as standard.
How far in advance should we book our wedding DJ?+
As soon as your date and venue are confirmed. Because only one wedding is booked per weekend, popular Tallahassee-area dates in peak wedding season (spring and fall) can book out many months in advance. A retainer secures your date, and you can finalize your package and enhancements later.
Can we make song requests or a do-not-play list?+
Absolutely. The planning portal includes a music questionnaire for building must-play lists, do-not-play lists, and genre preferences — DJ Olu takes it from there and reads the room live on the night.
Do you DJ events other than weddings?+
Yes — beyond weddings, Akanbi Entertainment also provides DJ and MC services for private parties, birthdays, engagements, and corporate events across the same North Florida and South Georgia service area. Weddings remain our specialty and the focus of our published packages.
